Eye Care for Rhode Island is pleased to offer eye exams, contact lens evaluation and fittings.
More than 30 million people in the United States wear contact lenses in order to see clearly.
To determine if you are qualified to wear contact lenses, considerations such as your general health, allergies, lens material, corneal health, eyelid health, and visual needs are taken into account. Please inform our scheduling staff if you would to include a contact lens exam in addition to your routine or annual eye exam.
Follow up and contact lens training:
If you are new to contact lens or need a refresher course, we also offer one-on-one tutorials so you can comfortably insert, remove and care for your contact lenses. We have a dedicated contact lens training area that allows for proper training. Contact lens is typically not a covered service under most insurance. We do accept VSP and EyeMed vison plans for these services.
The charge for evaluating and determining your suitability for contact lens wear is not included in the comprehensive exam fee or refraction fee. A comprehensive eye exam must be performed prior to the contact lens fitting. The fitting fee is for professional services and does not include the cost of the lenses.
